French luxury brand Louis Vuitton will open its first permanent restaurant, “Le Café Louis Vuitton,” inside Louis Vuitton Maison Seoul in Cheongdam on September 1. Reservations opened on August 18 via the Catch Table platform. This move marks a strategic expansion of the brand’s business beyond fashion into the food and beverage (F&B) sector.

The restaurant will be directed by Chef Yoon Tae-kyun, who presents a new dining experience by blending French cuisine with Korean flavors. Signature menu items include Beef Dumplings (48,000 KRW), Yuzu Caesar Salad, and the dessert “Pear Charlotte.” The interior is decorated with books selected by a book curator and the chef, along with Louis Vuitton edition publications, adding a cultural touch.

When the signature Beef Dumplings were revealed to cost 50,000 KRW for three pieces, some criticized the price as excessive. Nevertheless, reservations were fully booked almost instantly, demonstrating the strong curiosity around “luxury dining.”

In recent years, other luxury brands such as Hermès, Dior, and Gucci have also opened cafés and restaurants in Korea, expanding into the F&B domain. Louis Vuitton’s restaurant debut in Seoul is seen as both an opportunity to provide Korean consumers with a “luxury gastronomy” experience and a signal of the brand extending its identity into a broader lifestyle domain.
