ONLINE-KOREA

GEBANGSIKDANG, a Korean traditional fermented sauce restaurant, is opening a pop-up restaurant in Los Angeles (LA). The pop-up will be held at the renowned LA restaurant ‘hibi,’ which is listed in the Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand category, and will operate for a limited period from March 4th to March 23rd.

GEBANGSIKDANG has been consistently selected in the Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand from 2018 to 2025 and is highly praised both domestically and internationally for its deep flavors using traditional Korean fermented sauces and its modern reinterpretation of authentic Korean dishes.

The LA pop-up by GEBANGSIKDANG will bring their brand philosophy, “Korean Heritage on a Plate,” to life, offering the essence of Korean cuisine for American locals to experience.

This pop-up was made possible through a collaboration with the well-known U.S. dining company, Kaizen Dining Group. This project aims to promote traditional Korean cuisine on the global stage and is expected to elevate the status of Korea’s unique culinary culture worldwide.

A representative from GEBANGSIKDANG stated, “This pop-up will be an important opportunity to introduce traditional Korean cuisine to the world,” adding, “We plan to launch various global projects to bring the taste of Korea to customers worldwide.”

During the pop-up, GEBANGSIKDANG will serve its signature traditional fermented sauce dishes using fresh flower crabs sourced directly from Korea. Will these dishes, rich in Korea’s unique fermentation culture, capture the taste buds of LA’s food lovers?
