With the Constitutional Court's ruling on President Yoon Suk-yeol’s impeachment set for April 4, major palaces and cultural sites in central Seoul will be closed due to safety concerns.

The Cultural Heritage Administration’s Palaces and Tombs Division announced on April 2 that night viewing at Changgyeonggung Palace will be canceled on the 4th, and the Hamyangmun Gate connecting Changgyeonggung and Changdeokgung will also be closed.

This is seen as a safety measure due to expected large crowds near Anguk Station where the ruling will be delivered.

On the same day, Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, and Deoksugung will also be closed. Scheduled events such as the Gyeongbokgung guard changing ceremony, night tours at Heejeongdang in Changdeokgung, and visits to Seokjojeon Hall in Deoksugung have been canceled.

Nearby cultural institutions including the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Seoul, the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History, the National Folk Museum of Korea, the National Palace Museum, and Cheong Wa Dae will also be closed.
