Starting late in the afternoon on the 13th, rain will begin to fall across South Korea due to the influence of a tropical depression moving northward from the southeastern coast of China.

RAIN

Heavy rain is expected to continue until the morning of the 14th, and precipitation is likely to continue through the 16th.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the northward movement of the tropical depression will bring heavy rain. In particular, the central and southern regions, as well as Jeju Island, are expected to experience heavy rainfall due to convective precipitation and the low-level jet effect.

Expected precipitation amounts are: up to 120mm in Jeju, 30–80mm in southern regions such as Gwangju, Busan, and Gyeongnam, and 10–60mm in central regions. On the 15th, strong rain accompanied by thunder and gusty winds is expected due to the influence of cold air.

Meanwhile, Typhoon "Ewiniar", the first of the year, is not expected to affect Korea. The Korea Meteorological Administration also added that this rainfall is difficult to define as the start of the monsoon season, and there may be additional rainfall in central regions on the 20th and 21st.
