The Seoul Metropolitan Government will introduce “Seoul Table,” a local gourmet cooking class where foreign tourists can purchase ingredients directly from traditional markets and learn to cook Korean dishes.

The program will be held on September 15 at Gyeongdong Market and on September 20 at Mangwon Market, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants will spend three hours cooking alongside star chefs.

The classes will be led by chefs Park Joo-eun and Hwang Jin-sun, both owner-chefs of restaurants recognized by the Michelin Guide and Bib Gourmand, and featured in “Seoul’s Top 100 Restaurants” for three consecutive years. Chef Hwang Jin-sun is also well known to the public thanks to her appearance on the popular variety program “Black & White Chef.” Designed as more than just a cooking class, this program combines traditional markets with local culinary culture to create an immersive tourism experience.

Foreign participants can make online reservations starting August 22 at 10 a.m. through the organizer’s official website. The participation fee is 110,000 KRW per person.

Through this program, Seoul aims to showcase the charm of traditional Korean markets while offering global tourists a unique and distinguished culinary experience.
