[🇺🇸]Shinsegae Department Store Completes Korea’s Largest Food Hall

Shinsegae Department Store will officially open its 1,200-pyeong (approx. 3,967㎡ / 42,760 sq ft / 1 acre) Premium Deli Hall on the basement floor of the Gangnam branch on the 29th.

This marks the final stage of the Gangnam branch’s food hall project, following “Sweet Park,” “House of Shinsegae,” and “Shinsegae Market.” The entire food hall now spans 6,000 pyeong (approx. 19,835㎡ / 213,800 sq ft / 4.9 acres), making it the largest in Korea. Combined with the adjacent Central City Famille Station, it forms a massive 10,000-pyeong (approx. 33,058㎡ / 356,000 sq ft / 8.2 acres) gourmet space.

The newly introduced Deli Hall goes beyond simple ready-to-eat meals, offering restaurant-quality Asian, Korean, and Western cuisines.

Asian options include Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants such as Windy Grinos (Singapore), Nam’s Deli (Thailand), Guo Mandu (China), Kyoto Onimaru (Japan), and Blue Butterfly (Vietnam).

For Korean cuisine, offerings include Seoyeon by Michelin-starred chef Kim Do-yeon and Hwadon Jeomjeong from Jeju, along with health-conscious brands such as salad bar Veggie Studio and poke/salad specialist Wasabi Green.

European-inspired first-in-Korea stores such as Vecchia e Nuovo Gastro, Beton Kitchenette, and Godiva Crepe will also debut.

Shinsegae stated that the new Deli Hall “represents a milestone in elevating the standard of Korean gastronomy,” adding that it will strengthen differentiated content and services to provide customers with a unique experiential value in offline spaces.
