The Netflix animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters is sparking a major boom—even at the National Museum of Korea, where visitor numbers have surged dramatically.

According to museum officials, the number of visitors in July reached approximately 690,000—more than double compared to the same period last year. The museum explained, “The popularity of the Netflix original K-Pop Demon Hunters combined with the peak summer vacation season has significantly increased attendance.” At this pace, total visitors for the year could surpass 4 million, setting a new all-time record.

With the influx of visitors, the museum’s parking lot has been overwhelmed daily. In response, the museum has increased staff for parking guidance, crowd control, and visitor safety, while also encouraging the use of public transportation.
