On March 1st, more than one million people, according to the organizers' estimates, gathered in Seoul’s Gwanghwamun, Yeouido, Seoul Station, Daehak-ro, Sinchon, and other locations nationwide to protest against the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol. Lawmakers from the People Power Party also participated, calling for the dismissal of the impeachment. Participants across all generations shared the belief that rejecting the impeachment would serve as a standard for protecting and restoring South Korea’s liberal democracy.

The Korea Restoration Movement Headquarters (Daegukbon) held a rally at 11 AM in Gwanghwamun, Jongno-gu, Seoul. The organizers initially reported an expected turnout of 230,000 to the police, but by 2 PM, the estimated number of attendees had risen to 300,000. Protesters wore stickers and badges reading "STOP THE STEAL," "No Impeachment," and "CCP (Chinese Communist Party)·China OUT," waving the South Korean and American flags while chanting "Dismiss the impeachment!"

A man in his 50s from Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, said, "I came here to defend South Korea from pro-China and pro-North Korea forces and to support President Yoon in safeguarding liberal democracy," adding, "The judiciary, education, and media have all been infiltrated by pro-North and pro-China spies, putting liberal democracy in a dire crisis."
A man in his 60s from Gangseo-gu, Seoul, remarked, "Seeing young people arrested during protests at the Western District Court made me realize that the rule of law in this country is collapsing." He added, "Even memorial sites for patriotic martyrs are nowhere to be found in Seoul. The judiciary, administration, and politics are all biased against conservatives, which is why we must come out and defend liberal democracy ourselves."

Suk Dong-hyun, the lawyer leading President Yoon’s national defense team, took the stage at Daegukbon and delivered a message on behalf of the president. "On behalf of the imprisoned President Yoon, I express gratitude," he said. "I met with him yesterday afternoon. He asked me to convey that he is doing well and in good health. He remains resolute and unyielding."
He continued, "The prosecution, police, Public Prosecution Service, courts, Constitutional Court, and National Election Commission are all engaged in unfair, illegal, and irrational practices. Isn't this a national emergency? Patriotic citizens are the driving force of history. Everyone gathered at Gwanghwamun must unite to restore the president to office!"
