[🇬🇧] Korea-Spain Cultural Exchange: ‘Connecting Cultures through Movement’ Performance in Madrid This July

To mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Spain, a Korean dance performance will be held in Madrid. The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, along with the Korean Cultural Center in Spain and the Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange, will host the performance “Connecting Cultures through Movement” in Madrid on July 4 as part of the 2025 Korea Season, under the slogan “Two Cultures, One Heart.”

The performance will take place at the Dance Center Theater of Matadero, Madrid’s leading multi-arts venue. Directed by Artistic Director Kim Shin-ah, it will feature the Choi Sang-cheol Contemporary Dance Company, Hoo Dance Company, and Humansstance, presenting a fusion of traditional and modern dance arts. Prior to the performance, there will be an opportunity for Spanish arts planners and Korean artists to interact, and Korean artists will also be interviewed by major Spanish media outlets.

In addition to the dance performance, the Korea Season will continue with cultural events in various fields. In July, Korea will be the guest country at the "Sea of Music" festival in Cartagena, and events such as a classical music festival, the Liber International Book Fair, and a contemporary literature festival are also scheduled. Through these events, Korea aims to showcase its diverse cultural arts globally and strengthen its soft power.
