President Yoon Sukyeol strongly criticized the execution of an arrest warrant by the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) on the 15th, stating, "The rule of law in this country has completely collapsed," and expressed his regret over the illegal procedures.

On this day, President Yoon released a pre-recorded video message through the presidential office, declaring, "Seeing a warrant issued by an institution without investigative authority and a court without warrant review authority issuing arrest and search warrants, I am enraged by the collapse of the rule of law."

He continued, "The investigative agency fabricating false official documents to deceive the public and proceeding with illegal procedures forcibly is something I can no longer overlook."

The President explained, "As the President who must uphold the Constitution and legal system, responding to illegal and invalid procedures is not about recognizing them, but a decision to prevent unfortunate bloodshed."

President Yoon also stated, "I felt hope seeing the younger generation re-recognizing the importance of liberal democracy and showing their passion," adding, "Even though we are currently in a time where the rule of law has crumbled and it seems like a dark era, I believe the future of the Republic of Korea is full of hope."

At 10:33 a.m. on the same day, the CIO executed an arrest warrant against President Yoon. This was the first statement he made to the public in 32 days since the impeachment motion was passed on December 14 last year.
