Director Hwang Dong-hyuk held a press conference ahead of the release of Squid Game Season 3, the finale of the Netflix original series, set to premiere on June 27.

This season follows Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) as he reenters the deadly game, grappling with grief and guilt after losing his close friend Jeongbae. It also highlights his ideological clash with the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) and delves into deeper questions about capitalism and moral responsibility.

Director Hwang stated, “There are no plans for a Season 4”, adding, “Once you watch Season 3, you’ll understand why no further season is necessary.”
However, he left open the possibility of a future spin-off and hinted that he is currently working on another project.
The final season features a stellar cast including Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Im Si-wan, and Kang Ha-neul, and is expected to conclude the series with powerful storytelling and thought-provoking themes.
