A red jumper worn by Karina, a member of K-pop girl group aespa, has become a hot item online, quickly selling out across e-commerce platforms.

On May 27, Karina posted a photo on her personal social media wearing a red jumper featuring the number “2,” sparking speculation that it might be a political statement supporting a certain party in Korea’s presidential election.
In response, Karina took to the fan community platform Bubble on the 28th to clarify, saying, “I’m really sorry for causing concern. That wasn’t my intention at all.”
Her agency, SM Entertainment, also issued a statement denying any political intent, saying, “We apologize for the concern caused by Karina’s post.”

Meanwhile, the jumper she wore quickly sold out online and is now in limited supply.
The jumper is from Vaquera, a New York-based street fashion brand favored by global pop stars like Rihanna and Billie Eilish. The piece Karina wore is priced in the ₩700,000 range, and as of the morning of the 29th, most sizes are sold out.
