According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency's latest report on beverage consumption from 2019 to 2023, the most consumed drink among Korean adults is unsweetened coffee such as Americano.

In 2023, the average daily beverage intake per person was 274.6g, a more than 20% increase compared to 2019.
Those in their 30s had the highest intake at 415.3g per day, and men consumed more beverages than women.

Unsweetened coffee topped the list with 112.1g daily, followed by carbonated drinks at 48.9g. Notably, intake of sugary sodas has declined, while consumption of low-calorie sodas has risen.
Despite increased beverage intake overall, sugar intake slightly decreased, suggesting a shift toward healthier, low-calorie options.
However, the agency warned that beverage consumers may be more than twice as likely to consume excess sugar, especially among children and adolescents, where high-sugar drinks could lead to chronic illnesses in adulthood.
