The Jongro District in Seoul announced on the 1st that it will restrict tourist visits to the "Red Zone," a densely packed residential area of traditional Korean houses within the Bukchon Special Management Area, limiting access from 5 p.m. to 10 a.m. in an effort to protect residents' right to privacy.

Through these visitation restrictions in the Red Zone, Jongro District aims to safeguard the living environment of the residents.
A guidance period will be implemented until February 28, 2025, after which, starting March 1, tourists who enter the Red Zone during restricted hours will be fined 100,000 won.
