[🇬🇧] Fashion Items Gaining Attention Amid Early Summer Heat

Even before the official start of summer, high temperatures and humidity have led to a surge in interest in fashion items that help beat the heat.

On the 28th, style commerce platform Ably reported a sharp rise in demand for “humidity-proof items,” such as breathable clothing and long-lasting cosmetics, due to early heatwaves and high humidity.

In the fashion category, items made of breathable materials—like punching (hole-detailed designs) and mesh (net-like fabric)—are gaining popularity. Not only do they provide cool comfort, but they also serve as stylish statement pieces, making them increasingly in demand ahead of a hot, humid summer.

According to Ably’s customer data (from May 1 to 21), punching short-sleeve tops saw a 432% increase in sales and a 155% increase in search volume compared to the same period last month.

Mesh materials, combining function and style, are quickly emerging as a top summer fashion trend. During the same period, mesh cardigans saw a 112% jump in transactions, while mesh short sleeves increased by 75% in sales and 64% in search volume.

Demand for mesh isn’t limited to clothing—accessories are also booming. Mesh flat shoes (+577%), mesh sneakers (+427%), and mesh ball caps (+184% in sales, +123% in searches) show that mesh is dominating across all categories.
